Do you have five minutes? In the time it takes to tie your shoes and brush your teeth (I brush for a while), you can optimize your Facebook Page and generate more leads. Some of these actions will require less than a minute of your time, yet they will go a long way to boost your lead generation potential.
Please note: These changes won’t do you any good if your Facebook Page looks like it was designed for less than $2. My goal is to help you notice the hidden potential in a few areas to enhance your Page.

Back to business…
Below are some quick fixes to optimizing your Facebook Page:
Add Text Above Your Links
Aside from looking like pure spam, excessive links will bore your Facebook fans. Take some time to craft unique text above your links.
Ask a question; be humorous; be controversial—just say something! Show your fans you are not a spamming post monster spewing out information without any concern for the people reading it.
I follow Freelance Switch’s posts on Facebook and found an example of this today.
Notice how they made the text light and funny and encouraged interaction.
Pinterest Tab for your Facebook Page
If you are anywhere on the web, you are inundated with news about Pinterest. With 10,000,000 users and counting, the pinboard website has become an internet phenomenon.
I see a lot of marketers making their way over there pinning infographics, webinars and helpful tips to lure new leads to their establishments and gain some extra link juice.
If you haven’t taken a look at Pinterest, you may want to start here.
As of now, there is no other way to add Pinterest data to your Facebook Page without using an iFrame tab. If your company relies on Pinterest for marketing, you can incorporate your pinboard into a tab on your Page.
Use the iFrame app Static HTML and follow the instructions as outlined in this article: Pinterest for Facebook
So I lied…this Pinterest tab may take a little more than five minutes, but it will be worth your while in the end.
About Section
The About section is located below the tabs on the left side of your Page. Though Facebook allows 255 characters, only the first 78 are displayed. I kept my About section short and sweet, but if you want to write more, list your website and most important information in the beginning.
Make Your Tabs Visible
When people who are logged into Facebook view your Page, they will only see nine tabs. The first three (Wall, Info, Friend Activity) you cannot move, but the rest can be shifted. Move the most important tabs to the top 3-5 positions. Also, use symbols, caps or whatever else you can to make your tabs stand out. Mari Smith does a nice job on her Page.
Comment on Other Pages
Use your Page to comment on other Pages. Do not spam! Just join the conversation posting as your page instead of your personal profile. Add value back to the community and others will notice you.
